Instructor Development Course (IDC)
The PADI IDC can be divided into two separate courses:
- PADI Assistant Instructor
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
The PADI Assistant Instructor Course is designed to build up the Divemaster's abilities to organise and supervise dive activities while concentrating on developing teaching skills. Through independent study, classroom sessions, and practical application, you will learn to construct effective knowledge development presentations and conduct PADI programmes.

The PADI
Open Water Scuba Instructor
(OWSI):
The two steps to becoming a OWSI are:
- Completing an IDC
- Passing a PADI Instructor Examination, IE.
Our goal is to prepare you to become a professional OWSI.
During your OWSI training, you will review PADI
Standards, procedures, philosophies and teaching methods as
well as hone your practical teaching ability and watermanship.
After successfully completing a PADI
Instructor Examination (IE), OWSIs take responsibility
for introducing people to scuba diving through various PADI
programs and courses and are certified to teach the
entire range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba Diving up to
Divemaster
(except for specialties which
require specific Specialty Instructor ratings).
Minimum
time needed 5 days + 2 for the IE.
